Bike Fitting: Optimizing frame size and geometry is critical to achieving comfort, performance and injury prevention.
Whether you’re looking for a competitive edge or new to cycling, nothing can improve your riding experience as much as a professional bike fit. We’ve invested in the best training and technology to provide the most comprehensive fit services available.
We use the Body Geometry Fit method to understand your goals and measure your physical capabilities and strengths. Then we adjust the bike to you and recommend solutions to improve comfort and enjoyment on the bike. To ensure total accuracy, we use the Retül 3D Dynamic Motion Capture System to evaluate your position while pedaling under load. Once your fit is complete, we use the Zin digital bike measuring tool to provide you with accurate final measurements of the bike.
Fits using the powerful and accurate Retül system are only available at the Toga West Side location. To provide you with personal focus and the highest quality bike fit experience all fits are done by appointment only. Your fit may involve changing a stem, handlebar, or saddle. Parts and labor charges for installation may be added to the price for the fit. Please bring your bike, cycling shoes, riding shorts, and jersey to your scheduled fit to get the best possible result.

A bike sizing will get you rolling in a safe and comfortable manner. It includes selecting an appropriate size bike and then adjusting the saddle height, saddle setback, bar position and rotation to work best for your body. Sizings can be performed on road, mountain, triathlon, time trial or track bikes. This service is included with the purchase of a new bicycle.
BODY GEOMETRY 2D FIT
Body Geometry Fit is a process starting with a rider profile interview, followed by a 20 step physical assessment and 15 step on-the-bike equipment adjustments. Afterwards, your Body Geometry Specialist will provide you with thorough documentation and schedule a follow-up session to ensure your satisfaction with your final position. This process is scientifically proven to improve knee tracking, reduce injury and increase power, and is the same method that is used with top professional riders in all cycling disciplines.
What to expect?
3D pre-fit assessment, our technician will ask a series of questions designed to help us understand an athlete’s cycling history, goals, and unique physical characteristics. Next, we’ll perform a series of tests design to evaluate a person’s body structure, flexibility, strength, and the possibility of a leg length discrepancy.
We then begin a riding assessment, which will help us analyze the rider’s body position and pedal stroke in a dynamic fashion. With the help of the Retul motion capture 3D software, we can see an exploded view of a rider’s pedal stroke. This enables us to determine pedaling dynamics, balance from left to right leg and make the necessary adjustments.
We also utilize Retul motion capture technology to take measurements as your riding. Retul is a state-of-the-art 3-D motion capture system designed specifically to collect the most accurate and realistic data for our bike fit specialists. The Retul system gathers data from 8 key anatomical points in the cyclist’s riding position. This enables our fitters to profile existing (before) and ideal (after) angles for our customer’s needs, which could be to gain more efficiency and performance, enhanced comfort or possibly to fit the customer around an injury.
The passive data collection devices still used by many fitters today, such as the tape measure and plumb bob, are outdated and less accurate because they are subject to human error. Fitting with the Retul system, however, provides sub-millimeter accurate dynamic data that is organized into an easy-to-read report for both our certified fitters as well as the cyclist.
Retul allows our bike fit experts to capture 100% objective data in a dynamic state and evaluate multiple viewpoints (3-D) simultaneously while the rider is pedaling. This assessment focuses on the correct alignment of the rider from the side, top and front planes, ensuring the rider is sitting squarely on the bike and that their hip, knee, and foot is properly aligned. This process will take between 1.5-2.5 hours so please allow for this when scheduling. Also, make sure to be prepared with the required gear. This includes riding shorts and top, cycling shoes, heart rate monitor (if you use one), a towel, and a filled water bottle (cold drinks are also available in our shops).
All fits by appointment only. We do this to ensure that we are able to give you the time and attention required for this one-on-one assessment. Can’t make it down to the shop? We can arrange for your fitting or custom bicycle purchase to take place at your home or office. For more information including pricing and scheduling please give us a call anytime during normal business hours. If you wish to e-mail our fitters please choose the appropriate shop from below:
